Unlock a Transformative Partnership with The Afropolitan Alpha Residential Development
Dear Mrs. Ireti Samuel-Ogbu,
We hope this message finds you well.
We respectfully seek the support of Citibank in facilitating crowdfunding commitments from the international Afropolitan community, through one or more reputable crowdfunding service providers operating in countries outside Africa where Citibank maintains a presence. The funds generated from these commitments will be directed toward the development of The Afropolitan Alpha Residential Development (TAARD), a landmark project located on Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi.
Project Overview
TAARD is envisioned as a premium residential destination that seamlessly integrates elevated living with immersive Afro-contemporary cultural experiences—meticulously curated to inspire and resonate with the global Afropolitan community. As a pioneering development, TAARD combines modern urban living with Afro-contemporary culture, catering to Afropolitans and like-minded individuals who seek a meaningful connection to African heritage while embracing contemporary expressions and sustainable living. The 26-storey development will feature 18 floors dedicated to premium residences, with the remaining levels excluding those designated for ample parking reserved for lifestyle-enhancing amenities. These will include curated spaces for wellness, dining, and cultural engagement, each thoughtfully infused with Afro-contemporary sensibilities. As the first in a series of Afropolitan projects, TAARD sets a new benchmark for future developments that will seamlessly blend culture, sustainability, and elevated living across Nigeria and beyond.
TAARD offers a compelling and differentiated value proposition within Nigeria’s real estate landscape. While select five-star hotels and Afro-contemporary accommodations provide culturally enriched hospitality experiences, TAARD is purposefully conceived to deliver a more immersive, everyday Afro-contemporary lifestyle. By harmonizing refined residential comfort with culturally inspired architecture, spatial design, and curated lifestyle services, TAARD introduces a transformative model one that doesn’t compete with traditional hospitality but redefines modern urban living through a deeply rooted cultural lens.
A comparative market analysis underscores TAARD’s distinct positioning within the premium living segment, setting it apart through its cultural authenticity, lasting value, and seamless integration of design and lifestyle. It not only fills a clear gap in the market but also establishes a new benchmark among the continent’s most distinguished Afro-contemporary residential offerings.
Crowdfunding and Citibank’s Role
The project will be financed through a combination of crowdfunding, unit sales, and bridge financing to cover potential delays in the receipt of crowdfunding investment funds. Specifically, the crowdfunding component will be structured as convertible debt, where investor funds can convert into equity during the construction phase of the project. The crowdfunding campaign will be managed by one or more reputable overseas-based service providers, selected for their expertise in high-value real estate investments, strong engagement with the African diaspora, global reach, and commitment to ESG principles.
This crowdfunding campaign is part of a long-term strategy to fund a series of Afropolitan projects across Nigeria and other African countries. By supporting this project, Citibank will establish itself as a key partner in this transformative vision, opening doors to future collaboration on similar developments.
Legal and Regulatory Framework
The project will adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements, including compliance with Nigerian SEC regulations for crowdfunding, legal agreements governing investor relationships, and Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) to ensure sustainability and community engagement.
Citibank will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and legality of the project by working alongside our legal team to ensure all necessary compliance measures are met. This collaboration will guarantee that all crowdfunding efforts adhere to both Nigerian and international regulations and provide the necessary assurances to investors through the crowdfunding service providers.

Conclusion and Next Steps
TAARD is more than just a real estate development; it is a catalyst for economic empowerment and promotion of Afro-contemporary culture. We believe that Citibank’s involvement in TARP will be instrumental in the success of this project. By issuing investor debit cards and processing transactions, Citibank will not only strengthen its reputation as a forward-thinking institution but also generate sustained revenue streams.
This project is the first step in a broader vision to create a series of Afropolitan developments across Nigeria and other African countries. We envision Citibank as a key partner in this journey, leveraging its expertise and global reach to support not only this project but also future initiatives.
